How is SIRIS different from other reporting in bi.stanford.edu?

Main content start

SIRIS reporting is housed in bi.stanford.edu along with many other Stanford reports - it can often be confusing to understand what is a SIRIS report, and what is another part of Stanford's reporting ecosystem. To learn more about what data is housed in SIRIS, visit our overview of data in SIRIS page, review our resources page, or explore our widely used reports.

The most basic way to differentiate between SIRIS reporting and other reporting is where it lives in BI. SIRIS reporting lives within the "Student Analytics" folder. SIRIS is often confused with the Student Administration reports (or BI Reports), that live within the "Student Administration" folder.

SIRIS reporting is also more dynamic than other reporting in BI, allowing users to manipulate fields and customize the layout of reports. Users can more easily access data designed for point-in-time reporting and longitudinal analyses, as well as hierarchies that enable aggregation across groups (such as all professional degrees, or all graduate students in a given department).
