Ad Hoc Query Templates

The SIRIS team has crafted a series of templates for commonly analyzed student populations, instructor teaching history, and course groupings. These templates are categorized by subject area for your convenience. Follow the instructions below for guidance on saving these templates to your personal ad hoc folders.

Plan Enrollment

Student Class Enrollment 

  • Enrolled Students by Plan and Term: All active students enrolled in classes by term or current academic plan, featuring filters for term, academic plan, career code, and more. 
  • Course Enrollments by Term or Year: All courses with one or more enrollees for a term or year, featuring filters for term, calendar year, and course subject and number. Includes a summary table of course enrollments by academic plans. 

Census Enrollment

  • All Active Census: All active students at the time of the census, featuring filters for term, academic career, academic plan and org, and coterm status.
  • Census Coterm Count: Census count of coterms and non-coterms for the term, including the different types of Census counts: School Student Count, Student Plan Count, Major Student Count, University Student Count, and Distinct Student Count.

Instruction by Any Class Section

Instruction by Main Class Section

  • Faculty Teaching Outside of Their Department: Instances of professors teaching outside of their home department, with filters on term, instructor's administrative organization, instructor group, and the course's owning department.
  • Outside Faculty Teaching for a Particular Department: All courses within a particular department taught by instructors from outside departments, featuring filters on term, a course's owning department, and instructor administrative organization.
  • Lectures Teaching as Primary Instructors: Primary instructor assignments of lecturers (Academic Staff-Teaching), with filters on terms, course academic group description, and instructor's administrative organization.

Saving a template to your own ad hoc folder

To customize a template for your needs, you'll first need to save it to your ad hoc folder, as all templates are initially set to Read Only. Follow the steps below to make a copy:

In the top right corner, you'll notice the Save feature is greyed out.

Click the Save As button and navigate through the Folder tree to locate the desired folder within SIRIS.

After saving, if the Save button remains unclickable, refresh your browser page to activate it.
